Vintage Baby Book

I am hoping this week will end with a baby!

Baby B, even though I haven't even met you yet, I love you very much, so please can you hurry up!

My Mum found all our baby record books in her loft and it has been so lovely reminiscing over them. (Although note to self - second babies books aren't as full and third timers even less - I must complete Ollie's!)

I adore that my first holiday was to Southbourne, just like my boys. We've all sat snuggled in a blanket at the beach hut. We have already got a visit booked in to go with Baby B in August, so history will be repeating itself again - how wonderful!

I loved having a little blazer for school even though it was wool and smelt awful when it got wet in the rain. You can see the names of my childhood friends, one of them has started a lovely business making wall stickers for children, Stickerscape. Make sure you check it out!

My Mum kept my brother and sister's scan pictures - they didn't have one with me! Oh dear I feel old, I love this photo of us bringing Patrick home and my brother's little booties. How cute is he on his first day at school?!

But the best find was her baby book, which my Granny started filling out in 1955!

I hope my children find my book one day and feel just like I did.

I can't wait to see one with Baby B's name on it! Now is it going to be a pink or blue book?

The Bath Artisan Market

I have seen the Bath Artisan Market's pretty poster flying around the internet all week.

Birds, bunting, prettier pastel fonts and a free children's activity. Sold to the family from Weston desperate to escape another afternoon at a soft play.

If you have never had the pleasure of hearing about them, this may help.

Just so you know for next time, (they are open every second Sunday of the month) the market can be found in Green Park Station.

Under the glass roof is over 60 local designers, vintage sellers and makers and a variety of tempting food and drink stalls. We headed straight to the mobile wood fired pizza stall via Box Coffee, a converted 1920's horse box, for a couple of "babyccinos" and promptly order two pizzas in quick succession!

Click on the photos to find the beautiful people behind them.

This market is a culinary and crafty feast. We did a first, second and third lap just in case we missed anything! The best thing is each month there is a different free entertainment stall for children. This month was free screen printing by Happy Inkers

It was lovely to see the boys so interested in the process (well Ollie was glued to the colouring table really) and the ladies behind the idea, offer a party package as well!

What I loved, is that every month, one free stall is given to showcase the talents from the University students. This month was Night Knitters, a fabulous company selling lovingly knitted bunting, cup cosies and all sorts of loveliness. I couldn't resist these shrink plastic earrings.

It was a pleasure chatting to the organiser as well as meeting the brains behind Bristol Magpies Markets. Make sure you check out their Facebook pages here and here

We ended our afternoon in Bath with a play in the actual Green Park!

Even though I could have bought the world, I didn't pick up any vintage treasures this time, although if I had a space for the bright green bookcase I would have bundled it in the boot! I did have a rummage through these glass bottle stops earlier in the week, at the local charity shop. Bet you can't guess what crafty project I have in mind?!

Weekend Discoveries

I've felt like I have been on a discovery treadmill this week. One thing has led to another, that led to another and so on.

I love reading blogs and always flick through the bloggers recommended websites to visit. Chances are, if you love what you are reading you will be captivated by their choices. You can find my must reads here.

Discovery no 1.

Crayon Creatures - an ingenious (if a tad pricey) way of turning your children's artwork into figures. But wouldn't this be the most wonderful keepsake?

Discovery no 2.

Pearl and Earl. OH MY GOODNESS. This is now my number one posh party website.

I mean for crying out loud how darling are these floral straws and the giant balloon fringes?! I NEED a reason to buy one of these! Check out their blog too - loads of curious things to read.

Discovery no 3.

Undressed Skeleton. A foodie blog with sprinkles. I love this post on healthy gummy bear, perfect for little eaters.

Discovery no 4.

The Mint List. It dares you to dream. Dream of a world where you can afford such treasures. A sweet lady got me onto it and now I can't stop lusting.

Discovery no 5.

The ecojot blog. I am a big fan of their illustrations and bought a few notebooks and a couple of journals when we visited America in February. I'm going to use this journal as a photo album of our trip. But I started reading their blog this week and I am obsessed. Take a peek

I hope you all had nice weekends. Did you make any discoveries?

We are still waiting for baby b to make an appearance. I guess I am going to have to wait a little longer to be an Auntie...
