Life with a newborn

I am back with my niece in my arms for the weekend.

In a few hours, Uncle Patrick will be landing at Heathrow (for one night only) and there will be two excited nephews waiting to greet him in arrivals.

In the meantime, we are napping, feeding and changing. We've enjoyed 1 special bath with 3 pairs of hands and lots of cuddles. Oh and some snaps of the garden whilst we wait.

I can imagine wonderful woodland fairy parties in the next couple of years in this garden!

Happy Weekend everyone. This is going to be a super good one.

The only trophy I have to my name is from a wedding cake competition. And to be honest I only won for the icing! (The cakes were polystyrene, shocking I know).

It would be lovely to win a special award, voted by you.

I may have got a little carried away with the silly string, but the sentiment is right!

Even if you don't vote for me, (I wouldn't blame you, there are some incredible bloggers in the shortlist) make sure you vote for someone you love reading. We all put so much time and love into our blogs and to be recognised for doing something you adore, is the best feeling in the world.

You only have to vote for the blogs you know and enjoy. So don't worry about filling in the whole form.

You can vote HERE.

Thank you xx

National Stationery Week - notebook love

It's wonderful having an excuse to post about my unhealthy obsession with notebooks.

National Stationery Week runs from the 22 -28th April and is encouraging everyone to pick up their pens!

I love sending cards, my family always send postcards, even if it's just from a weekend away in England and I keep them all in a little tin in the living room.

I constantly make lists and get great satisfaction from recycling a completed, crossed out, to do list.

I can never resist a sweet looking note book. I carry around an enormous Filofax, bursting with receipts, torn out pages of magazines and there is always a notebook stuffed inside. I have one for blog ideas, several I use as background images within a blog post and some that are just for home ideas and one for the boys.

I have even started a mini one for my new niece, Yasmin lu! Things I don't want to forget about this precious time and things I would love to spoil her with one day.

My favourite notebooks are tricky to get hold of, unless you have a brother with a US shipping address! I adore the designs by Carolyn Gavin, the talented designer at ecojot. One day a custom order will be mine.

When we visited New York in February we stumbled upon the Tenement Museum and it's incredible shop. Notebooks galore, including this one made from photographs of walls!

Do you have a closet stationery obsession?! I remember that last week in August, being so exciting as a child, as that meant we got to go and choose a new pencil case for the new school term! In fact, I was more of a tin girl!

Celebrate National Stationery week by sending someone you love a letter. I shall be writing to Yasmin lu.
