Junk that I want in my trunk!
CliftonJunk-3.jpg

I blasted up to Clifton Village last week as I wanted to get a cake stand for my friends birthday today, and she had mentioned that she wanted an old one, that you could imagine had a bit of history! I knew exactly where I had to go, my absolute favourite treasure trove of rusty, reclaimed and vintage finds tucked up Waterloo Street in the heart of the village.

Focus on the Past is bursting to the seams and luckily they had the very thing I needed!

I also fell in love with this hall stand but as I had my mother in law with me I couldn't fib about the price to my husband and sneak it home!

I want to finish the lounge with a wall of mirrors, little antique mirrors, framed as a collection. I found this one but it was quite big so back to the hunt!

Snap Happy BritMums - The best part of me
bestpartofme.jpg

Today's Snap Happy BritMums photo challenge is the best part of me. I tried to not think about this one too much. I love that the boys have got my big eyes but I know that if ever I am having a crisis of confidence, if I wash and dry my hair, I instantly feel better.

I have pretty much always had long hair. I love that you can do all sorts with long hair and it is the one thing that I love doing with my best friend's little girls! Last weekend I did some rather lovely plaits on big boy's sweetheart!

I once had it cut into a bob at school and looked dreadful!

Photo a Day May - A smell you adore

There is a scene in the children's film Ratatouille where the mean food critic takes a bite of the rat's ratatouille and gets blasted back to his childhood. Well for me talcum powder does exactly that. I remember being plastered in it as a child and my mum still uses it every day on herself. Whenever she stays with us, I can always smell it in the morning! I love the dusty, chalkiness of it and the smell makes me think of rubbing sand out of our toes when we were children at the beach! Nothing to do with babies at all!

Day number 8 for Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day May challenge, a smell I adore!
