nip nip - spider crabs!
crabbing-10.jpg

One of my vivid childhood memories is crabbing at Mudeford in Dorset. As big and small boy are still too young to have the patience and concentration (the waiting in the queues at Peppa Pig World proved it) to sit on the jetty, I decided to make our own crabs at home!

I bought the crabbing reel and bucket in a little hardware shop for £2 and bought the bits to make the crabs from a haberdashery in the High Street.

Luckily I had the wiggly eyes, paint and magnets already left over from something else!

As they turned out more like orange spiders we have named them our spider crabs!

I used a busy border on these, as that is how it felt making them, busy! Small boy trying to lick the paint and big boy refusing to keep his apron on!

My Fairy Godmother has arrived at Hotel Mama
present1.jpg

My fairy godmother (a.k.a my mum) arrived this morning to stay for a few days so I can do some proper work! As well as helping with the boys, she brings her best ironing arm and gets up with the boys in the morning, anytime after 6am!

Hooray, lie in day tomorrow!

I know I am very lucky and today she brought me a present too.

A new mat to the garden!

It is official, I own Hotel Mama!

Photo a Day May - Something you do everyday

Day 9 of Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day May. Something you do everyday. I am lucky that my sister and brother and I are extremely close.

And even more lucky, that with the power of Skype, I have been able to remain so close to my brother, when he emigrated to New Jersey 2 years ago.

Today we had a birthday party over lunch time so I wasn't back in time to Skype him, as he had already left for work (normally he eats his breakfast and we eat our lunch and we catch up of any news of the day before).

However, my sister had a day off today (she works in retail so has her weekends on a Wednesday) and we got to have a quick catch up over Skype on the latest goings on with the house they are trying to buy and her outfit for our brother's wedding next month.

So this is what I do everyday. Might seem mad to some, but sometimes it is only for a few minutes and if for whatever reason we don't manage to catch each other, I miss it!
