Day 11 of Fat Mum Slim's photo challenge. Kitchen.

I have chosen to share mine as it is exactly what I dreamed of, when we planned our extension 4 years ago!

It has totally impractical black gloss units, which are covered in sticky finger marks most of the time but look stunning when clean!

I adore the island in the middle, with the hob on the top. It is so sociable, cooking and having people on the bar stools opposite you.

There are two sets of doors to the garden so we get to take in the wonderful view twice as much. We chose to have a family area with a corner sofa as opposed to a table and chairs and whilst big boy is happy to eat up at the island and small boy is in the highchair, we will keep it the way!

Inspired by Cheri at I am a Momma hear me Roar, when small boy slept this morning, big boy and I did some writing in custard! Cheri used a coloured pudding they have in the States but I just used a bit of food colouring in regular pre made custard.

I drew the letters underneath on the paper plates as he is not quite 3 and whilst he recognises some letters he is not capable of writing them by himself.

We then went through what the letters stand for ... G for Granny, G for glasses .....

Of course he ended up eating it after a few tries but that was half the fun!

Overnight we have welcomed a new baby boy to our family! A new second cousin for our boys. He came into the world, as quick as a flash at home and I can't wait to hold him!

I have wrapped up a couple of presents and will be ordering a personalised heart from Country Heart, to match the one I bought his big sister nearly 3 years ago!

One of the presents is a frozen stack of goodies for the freezer!

I popped to the shops this morning and bought a variety of easy things for dinners they can just shove in the oven when they are exhausted!
