The perfect party part 4
partybag.jpg

The party favours. Everyone got a little painted floristry oasis (yes it took hours of painting but totally worth it!) all stuffed with a mini windmill, (Poundland two for 99p) a paper straw with a marshmallow on the end, a flower cocktail stick and a super hero lolly! (I used the fab printable capes from Zakka Life)

The party bags were actually boxes from the Wonder Pets party range (which I ordered on Amazon and shipped to my brother in New Jersey as it was cheaper!) filled with star sunglasses, a whistle, cress seeds, popping candy, Haribo mini sweets and spiderman candy sticks!

The babies all got little party bags with a grow your own cress rabbit (where the cress grows out of the top) and a toothbrush for when their milk teeth come through!

My personality in pictures

Today's Fat Mum Slim's photo a day May challenge was personality. This is me!

A people pleasing, perfectionist who is striving for the cartoon happy family, but likes a moan occasionally!

I know it can be irritating, people who strive for the perfect life and believe you me, I haven't met anyone who has achieved perfection, but that doesn't mean I will stop trying. Everyone has ups and downs and faces challenges in life. My parents divorced when I was at University and it left our family quite broken for a while.

I always say, why sit around relaxing when you can be making something or uploading the latest set of photographs! This actually means that I very rarely just sit. I've always got the laptop open in the kitchen (rightly or wrongly) and fortunately my husband is a bit of a geek, so he quite happily sits with the iPad, next to me with the MacBook.

I put my heart and soul into things and it leaves me quite vulnerable. I know I can be terribly sensitive and find it hard to accept people who seem to have different standards. It will probably take my whole lifetime to learn that lesson.

p.s I do like pink, hence the gerberas! So living in a house full of blue was not necessarily how I thought life would be when I was a little girl! But I wouldn't change it. We are the luckiest people in the world!

Let them eat cake!

Of course the finale of the party was the magnificent cake my friend and former colleague, Nicole made. She has set up a fantastic company called Planet Cake in Worcestershire and I was just lucky, that our friends who live in Gloucester, brought it down on their laps to the party! It was delicious and she used a polystyrene false cake for the top! I stuck his little character figures around it, with a tiny blob of coloured icing, as they would have taken hours to recreate!

When everyone cheered after singing happy birthday, the big boy did the most adorable thing and gave everyone a round of applause!
