Books, glorious books!

How I managed to keep small boy entertained, for the 40 minutes that I pottered around the Weston Hospice charity shop on Drove Road, W-s-M, I don't know! He wasn't even in the buggy! He sat, happy as anything in the book area (a cave like rabbit warren bursting with over stocked and ordered literary treasures) turning the pages on board books whilst I ran my fingers along the spines, every 3 minutes, finding something else I wanted! I had to have a yes, no and maybe pile!

I found a plastic wallet of 6 stencil boards, which I want to use for cakes, for 50p. (I want to sprinkle icing over them.) A Tom and Jerry sandwich box that looks like it's never been used, slightly pricier at 75p and a fantastic collection of books.

I was talking about small boy's party with his godmother a week ago and she mentioned she had seen some paper bunting made out of old Ladybird books. I loved this idea, so found 2 Dandy Books for 50p which I am going to cut up and use as bunting! A post for another time!

I just had to have this napkin book as big boy will love learning all the folds and especially the one with the tie! The modelling clay book was to give me a few ideas, the snake is getting really boring and the I spy book is for inspiration to make a simpler version for our trip to America in 3 weeks. I am going to tear some of the pages out and make up a book of about 10 things. At 3 that is the most he will enjoy looking for! Again 50p!

My last find was an old 1000 photography tips handbook. It has some brilliant tutorials and the graphics are lovely. I might use them for gift tags!

Linking up with Me and My Shadow for Magpie Monday!

Me and My Shadow
Party time (again!) My Mama's Monday Must Do
party.jpg

Small boy is turning one in just under 4 weeks. We are of course having a party, but this time we are just having family and godparents and 3 of our oldest friends who are basically family just with different surnames! The antenatal babies group of his pals are having a joint party, secret Santa birthday presents etc later in July!

Even with limiting the invitations, the guest list totals 44!

We have booked the village hall and we are having an Olympic theme! Ollie's Olympics!

As there are only two babies who can move on their hands and knees (small boy and his sweetheart), the crawling race might not be the entertaining thriller it could be!

I have a million and one ideas, thanks to my obsession with Pinterest and not a great deal of time! (A week in America at the end of June for my brother's wedding!)

I am determined to get organised this week!

The best First birthday party a boy could have, here we come!

Last minute See it Snap it Love it

This is one of the photos from our 20 hour trip to Southbourne. It was meant to be a 24 hour jaunt but rain stopped play! I LOVE it. A last minute entry for See it Snap it Love it

It's not the best, technically perfect or artistic shot but I adore it!

Small boy in the smallest life jacket they had and still it was so big, he could hardly see out!

He looks like such a blonde too!

My windswept sailor!
