Beautiful bow ties

I was reading one of my new favourite blogs The Train to Crazy and I realised we shared a love of boys in bow ties! I adore my boys in a bow tie or 5. I will think of any excuse to get them all dressed up! My big boy just isn't a cool dude. I don't want to sound mean but I could dress him in the coolest of outfits and he still looks more comfortable in a collared shirt, smart shoes and a bow tie! It is like he was born in the 50's, a traditional little Dandy!

He speaks in eloquent sentences that melt my heart. Last night, I sorted out the shoe basket and put on the stairs (to go up in the loft) a collection of his shoes that he has just this week grown out of! As he walked past them after his bath, he proclaimed " Oh no that's a shame, all my shoes are going upstairs!" He also said, when we were at our friends for lunch "this is a nice family" (he says it all the time at tender family moments). He asked the special lady (stewardess) on the plane for "a lovely glass of milk" and when I asked what he was going to pack in his suitcase, he listed his 4 favourite teddies and a present for Uncle Pat!

My Mum has a great shop near her that sells boys bow ties on elastic and I have them in 4 colours, for both boys!

For when I have some time, I found a fabulous tutorial from A Lemon Squeezy Home or I might try Prudent Baby or The Pleated Poppy!

For a no sew option, which might be more favourable, I found Cherishing Hopes and Dreams.

Although, I may purchase this pointed version pattern from my all time favourite Mommy Blogger Cheri at I am a Momma Hear Me Roar!

Back to Blighty

We landed in Heathrow this morning on time, but to the most miserable weather. The boys were brilliantly behaved on the flight. Big boy slept the whole way! We were very lucky to have good seats again, so when he dropped off after 15 minutes, I lay his seat completely flat and it wasn't until the Captain said "20 minutes to land" that I had to put it upright again!

Grandad was there to greet us (it always makes you feel special when there is someone waving madly at you as you come into arrivals doesn't it?) and we just about managed to fit the mountain of luggage in that we brought back with us! (I will share all our purchases in another post)

It was a marvellous trip to celebrate a memorable event. My little brother and his new wife are now sunning themselves in Antigua and having a blast! (We know thanks to the free wifi they have and email updates)

As soon as I get unpacked I will post some photos from the Wedding and also the Rehearsal meal that our side of the family hosted!

This is the first night in a week, that I will not have the big boy next to me and to be honest, I can't wait to get some quality sleep without wriggly cold feet! Just praying the jet lag doesn't kick in and we are all up at 4am!

Mama's Monday Must Do - pack again!

The time has come to pack up to go home. It feels like 5 minutes ago that we just landed!

I have been a little bit naughty and over indulged in my favourite shops! Target, Christmas Tree Shops (they don't sell Christmas trees!), Pottery Barn, Party City and a few others!

I have got some great things for small boy's party next week, which I could not have bought in England! That's my justification anyway!

If ever you need to sit on a suitcase to get it to close, it is now. Flying on my Mum's staff travel has been a life saver as we have a 3 case allowance each!

Soon we will be home and I can't wait to share some photos from the wedding weekend!
