My Vintage Birthday
me-26.jpg

I had such a lovely birthday. A party for four! Big boy said "Mama, who else is coming to your party?" to which I said "No one darling just our family." "But Mama, that's not enough people to sing happy birthday!" He may have had a point. Small boy struggles to say Mama eloquently!

After a breakfast of chocolate croissants we headed off to Yeovil for the Hello Bygones Vintage Fair.

We have been to a few of these fairs and this time I was determined to get my hair and make up done, 50's style in the Victory Rolls!

The ballroom of the Sports Club was filled with stalls selling vintage and handmade items and on the stage were various acts and dance classes. Small boy's favourite was the burlesque dancers!

We stopped at several pubs on the way home and on the fourth attempt (the first two were closed and the third didn't allow children) we found a great, family friendly, traditional pub, for me to have my favourite starter, the retro Prawn Cocktail!

When we got home, 2 out of my three boys sang and my husband had bought me my favourite coffee cake complete with pink princess cake decorations on it!

A very happy birthday to me! If it is your birthday today, I am sending you big birthday kisses! Mwah!

You just must watch small boy's first burlesque!

The Ultimate Camera Bag for Girls

Ok, so I am officially in love. It is almost too beautiful to use! After lusting after a Jo Totes camera bag for months, one arrived on my birthday! Major brownie points for my husband!

It even came in an adorable box and drawstring bag.

It is plenty big enough for my camera, flash and battery charger as well as a card reader and a few other bits if I don't want to take a handbag as well.

It is bursting with pockets and the leather strap is long enough to wear it over your shoulder or across your body.

I adore that her bags are unashamedly girly!

I went to drop off a bag of bits to the charity shop and foolishly thought I would take a quick peek around, as I only had small boy with me in his Quinny, happily eating a biscuit. Within seconds I spied a tea trolley. Yes I know they are terrible kitsch and who on earth would want one for an office? Well me! I am going to use it instead of drawers under my desk! The top is a perfect size for a printer and the bottom tray works brilliantly for the laminator and guillotine. £10 - sold!

I have been on the look out for a lamp and I really fancy a glass base. I haven't found any I like, despite the beady eyes until now! Not only did I pick up this pair of cut glass lamps for the bargain price of £1.50 each but I also found this turquoise beauty, that works perfectly with the TKMaxx shade! £2.50 - hooray!

Just have to chase up Maisons du Monde for the desk now!

Although small boy is under the impression it is his new walker!
