Thank you so much for all the supportive comments last week!

It made me feel so connected with you, all of you!

This is life lately.

This week has ben full of pilots, pretty flowers and a pretty perfect niece.

Making the most of life means you do feel a wee bit tired, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've tried to take on board all my good intentions from last week's podcast about balance. So yesterday, I actually had a few solid hours off the laptop. This may not be shocking to you, but for me it was a real break.

This coming week is just as busy and just as exciting. I have a little reunion dinner with my old Land team at Barratt Homes, meetings in Bristol for my development work and a couple of lovely photography jobs. Everyday brings new adventures.

Have a great week everyone :)

Me and Mine - A Family Portrait Project February 14

From now on, February 2014 is going to be known as fabulous family February!

I know I'm meant to show how taking family photos should be part of everyday life and this most certainly wasn't, but it's worth it.

Happy was the soundtrack to Christmas 2013. Yasmin lu's first Christmas. It was on repeat all day. Honestly, like all day. It sort of got to a point where you didn't realise and it was perfect.

I know it's terrible cheesy, but we are all really happy. When we are all together, which isn't that often with the Atlantic ocean between us, we are at ease, and life can't get much better.

We are so lucky that both our families have become one big extended family, all on hand at the end of a party, sweeping hall floors and the fact that one has a swimming pool definitely helps ;)

We spent my sister's 30th at my in laws and they hosted my whole family for a second Christmas Day whilst Patrick and Carlotta were over from America. I can't tell you how lucky I feel.

Rich and I met when we were 16 at sixth form. My brother barely remembers a time without him being around and Natalie and Patrick are the younger siblings he never had.

I, in turn, inherited an older brother and sister and 4 wonderful nieces and nephews.

And just look how much I love them. I can't believe how supportive and encouraging they all are of this blog, and how they were willing to join in with Me and Mine.

Family Heath, family, Szlichta, family Taylor, family Bohanna, family Broadley, family Marini I love you more than you know.

You know when you have a moment when you are so happy you could burst, this is it.

happy quote

Not quite 24 hours like the King Pharrell but here's our family 3 minutes and 53 seconds of happy.

Happy February, the month of love, the month of family!

Everyone who has been inspired by the Me and Mine project has one lady to thank, another Lucy. She started it all. Check out her blog here.

Araminta Flowers • Coming Soon

I had the greatest pleasure spending the day with Marian who is the creative talent behind the new floristry venture Araminta Flowers.

My dream job right?! Flowers, flowers and more flowers, and a few cake tins for good measure!

Marian is busy beavering away on her new website which will launch soon, full of all the images I took yesterday.

There was a moment of realisation yesterday, when I had to pinch myself. That I have actually built up a rather lovely business. I can't explain how lucky I feel to work for like minded creative individuals. I have slowly built up a wonderful set of clients who I am building long term relationships with and that was a distant dream a few years ago.

It's incredibly frightening working for yourself but it is spectacularly rewarding. Because you are in control, you are the master of your own destiny.

2014 is a year that sees both Rich and I with no security of being an employee. Life is one big adventure at the moment but we are embracing it, however scary it may be.

I am an all or nothing girl. I can't help it, it's just my nature. Jump in feet first or not at all.

Life quotation

Dream big everyone.

Is there something you are dreaming of?

I wrote a goals post back in January and haven't looked at it since! But when I did check in last night, turns out I am not doing too badly on my motto for this year. I couldn't appreciate the opportunities I have any more if I tried. Every kind tweet makes me want to share more, every supportive blog post comment I receive makes me so proud, every nomination for awards makes me burst with excitement.

Every photography job I win makes my heart skip a beat.

My goal yesterday was to get some great product shots for Marian but also to create a bank of content for her to share through social media. Snaps she can share to help promote her business without begin too sales oriented! I may have said the word Pinterest a few times yesterday ;)

It was wonderful working at Marian's home, in a sea of props and stems and to bring a little of her family into her business. Inspired by her late parents, Marian's new venture is the start of something special and I am sure they would be so proud.

I'll share a few of the finished edits from yesterday's adventure next week but here's a little taster.

Enjoy!
