Apologies for my blog absence! It has been a manic but completely awesome week!

I shall be sharing my ace experience at BritMums Live later this week but first, if you are looking for tips to improve your blog photography then you have come to the right place, and if you didn't get to attend the blogging conference Blognix, then fear not, all the slides are right here for you.

Blog Photography Tips

It was a pleasure to speak at Blognix, a conference that celebrates all that is positive within the blogging community. A day to inspire, share and connect with fellow bloggers in Birmingham at The Custard Factory.

Blognix

There is a complete mix of bloggers from all communities who attend Blognix. It's a great way to share your blog with a different part of the blogging community. I spoke to craft bloggers, beauty bloggers, fashion bloggers and it was a pleasure to see some familiar encouraging faces from the parenting community.

Deciding what to say was the tricky bit because there is so much to say! It was an honour to be one of the speakers amongst individuals with amazing stories and achievements.

The podcast this week is my session, as if you were in the audience. It's a long one so grab and pot of tea and a cake... there's 42 minutes or so of it!

I was so grateful for all the lovely feedback from the bloggers who mentioned my session in their round up posts and for all the tweets and messages. If you want to read any of the posts linked up click HERE

What is it that you would most like to improve? Mastering your camera? Composing your blog photos? Let me know - let's all help each other.

#capturingcolour • Green

I adore green. And as it's Thursday I am going to go for a #throwbackthursday amongst my post with the #capturingcolour bloggers too! It's hashtag central today!

I always thought my boys would inherit my dark brown eyes but no, Ollie is almost a carbon copy of Rich and his side of the family.

This is one of my favourite photos of Ollie. My gorgeous green boy. Where did that baby go?!!!

I had baby pink as our wedding theme and a few years later at our best friend's wedding I had serious colour envy! I absolutely loved the mint green throughout the wedding and if ever I get a chance to wear that beautiful dress again (if I can fit into it!) I will jump for joy.

So I was very at home the week for the Instagram #capturingcolour week of green.

If you haven't joined Instagram you are missing out of a world of endless creativity and inspiration! Come and find us all and see what we are snapping using #capturingcolour.

You can find me here... if you like peonies you will like my feed ;)

Shades of Green

There is something so calming about stopping to appreciate a scene or your meal. I have seen a lot of green this week as we are all slimming down for the Summer. We are off to Spain with my sister and her family and my brother and sister in law from America. I am doing ok so far, 7lbs down, 16 to go! But I haven't been able to get anywhere near to zipping my favourite green dress up in a couple of years, so all the plates of green will be worth it! A few more pounds off and it will fit like a treat.

I am staying with my sister tonight ahead of her helping me at the BritMums Live conference tomorrow where I am hosting the blog design session - wish me luck!

Capture by Lucy

This week you will be flooded with violet, indigo, mauve, lilac, lavender and every other colour way of purple you can imagine!

Come and join in the fun and see what the other colour loving bloggers have captured this week.

Good luck to all the BiBs Finalists for the awards tomorrow evening! Sending a virtual 4 leaf clover to everyone!

2 Minute Mousse Flans

I love hosting especially in the Summer. Hazy days filled with the smell of a BBQ and an excuse to hang fairy lights in the garden. No wait, I don't need any excuse for fairy lights!

But BBQ's are quite tricky to host, there always seems to be an endless amount of meat to cook, that's ready at different times! So here's a 2 minute idea for dessert, that looks amazing but takes almost no time whatsoever!

All you need is chocolate and lemon mousse, fruit and ready made mini flan bases.

You can find everything you need at any good supermarket.

A sweet idea that the kids can join in with too! The boys loved making their own "special" puddings! Well I have them fooled ;)

Fill your flan bases with 2 large tablespoons of mousse (2 yoghurt sized pots will fill 3 flans) and decorate with fruit. A squeeze of lemon juice over the kiwi, blueberries and lemon mousse is a delight.
