Vintage Gold on Gloucester Road

On Thursday I had a mountain of important errands to make, which included 2 trips up and down the M5 to Bristol. Fortunately, this gave me a chance to grab my camera as I found a vintage wonderland.

After picking up this tin bath for the hallway, earlier in the week from my favourite local vintage boutique, I didn't think I would get much luckier.

Until I whizzed down Gloucester Road on the way to our solicitors. The story of all the errands is far too boring compared to what I stumbled upon, so I'll get straight to the good stuff.

If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen a tweet from the moment I found Reclaimers Reclamation. You couldn't miss it, it was "OH MY GIDDY AUNT". It felt like a magical moment!

I felt like I had found a pot of vintage gold at the bottom of a rainbow! This narrow shop went on and on and on. It was totally worth getting my feet soaked to share some photographs of their incredible stock.

There was a french original swinging crib, prams from the twenties that looked like they should be in BBC Bristol's prop warehouse not gathering dust at the back of this tardis. You name it, they have it. I adored the pharmacy set of drawers and all the more industrial items like the taps.

I could have bought the world, but I fell in love with a rusty old Sparklets soda syphon for a tenner. I am going to clean it up and use it as a bookend!

As I crossed the road back to the car a huge tin bath caught my eye outside the paraphernalia shop Bliss.

Surely it was worth a look, in case it was a complete bargain. After a very short negotiation it was mine for £20! Ok, so at the moment it is going to make a great basket for the photo booth props at Sammy's Birthday Party but after that who knows! Garden planter? Play boat?

My husband was a little take aback by my need for 2 tin baths in one week, but after all the errand favours I had done, was a great sport and took a photo for me!

Have you found any bargains this week?!
