A very sweet friend of mine kindly let me into a little secret last week. 

Her friend is emigrating to Dubai shortly and was having a huge sale of her vintage furniture, crockery, glassware, linen and more, all in aid of Muscular Dystrophy. 

There is nothing better than the feeling of buying something lovely and doing a good deed! For less than the price of a takeaway on a Saturday night, I bought a mini collection in itself. 

I could have bought it all. All 10 plus glass cake stands, all the delicate serving plates and the hand embroidered table cloths. But the actual sale wasn't for a day, so it was only right to leave some pieces behind, for the sale goers on Saturday morning! 

Within 10 minutes I had snapped up a beautiful French pastel tea set for £3, a silver cake stand and silver three tier folding stand, a couple of china serving plates and 3 etched glass plates for £1 each, a blue and white embroidered tablecloth, 2 vintage aprons for 50p each, a blue footed glass bowl for £1 and a French green glass cake stand. 

I hope the sale went brilliantly on Saturday and they raised lots of money! 

Did you bag any bargains this weekend? We spent the most glorious weekend in Southbourne with my in laws. A picture perfect seaside adventure. They are moving to the area at the beginning of September from Surrey and we talked about all the furniture they won't be taking with them. New little project for me over the summer - painting their traditional cast iron patio furniture set pastel colours! I'll post some pictures from the weekend later this week, but this was one of my favourites. 

Doesn't the sunshine just make life feel nicer!  

With the party over it's been a little bit of a relief to get back to normal routine, instead of evening preparing 37 party bags and activities every evening!

Here are my discoveries of the week: 

Couture Craft is a beautiful contemporary cookery, craft and style blog. I lost a good 45 minutes pottering around Hannah's website and will definitely help the boys make a mini London scene. 

La La Lovely is everything I hope my blog will be someday. I am totally inspired by absolutely everything Trina writes about and her eye for detail and photography is stunning. 

Since I stumbled upon Confetti Sunshine I have barely looked at any other party blog. Great DIY tutorial posts, unique ideas and a Star Gazing Party theme - I'm in! 

I am almost tempted to have another baby just to be able to buy these sheets! A nest for your baby's bed, I don't think I have ever seen a more elegant newborn product. 

This poster flashed up on my Facebook newsfeed and I held my breath until I saw the date, as I am desperate to go! I am a big fan of the Bristol Magpies and I and covered their pop up shop not so long ago. Thank goodness we have the only free Saturday for nearly 9 weeks, on the 15th! Hooray - see you there.

And finally, my new food photography crush. I am totally in love with her styling and execution. Have a peek at the incredible talent of Linda Lomelino. Prepare to be amazed.
 

Happy Sunday everyone.

We are down on the South Coast at my Grandparents holiday home that will stay in my family for generations to come and are off to take a drive by, to my in laws new house (just along from my family flat in Southbourne in Poole). Fingers crossed it all goes through swimmingly. Hint - did you see yesterday's post?! 

Neighbour's blooms, kissing cows, presents for a new house, summer dresses, looking at cards, fruit pops.

Life in the countryside, meeting a florist, props for 2 new food photography jobs, meeting a baker, christening a new bed, new holiday swimmers. Viva España!

Bright tea towels, Skypes with America, mini tiger, big puppy, meeting a knitter, stocking up on film for BritMums Live. I am already dreaming of the hotel, thanks to Imotiv for my beautiful room!
